New Stuff!

It's summertime and time to get down to business!  So, to start off the much anticipated 2nd blog post, I'm cleaning up the workspace here at the home office to prepare to get some more artwork done!

"More artwork, you say?"

Yes, last month I completed a portrait that I promised to illustrate for one of my best friends, Abby, and here it is!

Total [actual] work time on this was about 5 hours. Although, I completed the pencil sketch way back in November of 2011, I didn't complete the actual digital paint until May 14, 2012 (I guess a lot of A.D.D. kicked in). She was ecstatic about it once she saw it posted on her Facebook page and immediately turned it into her main profile picture!

Forever trying to get whatever I illustrate "right", Photoshop is my greatest artistic friend.  As you can see with this comparison of the original pencil sketch and the completed color I "tweaked" some things to come to the end result.

If you'd like to see a larger view of it, you can find it on my deviantART profile here.

Now, on to what's new on my Zazzle.com store.  Since the shoes have been on "hiatus" there, I've been brainstorming what to create next to sell there.  So, far, I've just been reusing the same artwork on new applications that Zazzle has started offering. Having not really seen what it is that they've been offering, I noticed that they now have game console skins. Specifically, the Xbox 360 S and the original Xbox.

If you're looking to decorate your Xbox console case with cool graphics, look no further.  Here's the first one, a Godzilla themed skin: King of Kaiju.

That's it for now.
